Control
AutoTrawl
AutoTrawl replaces conventional trawl doors with Hydropucks, passive hydrodynamic units on the net’s bridles that are engineered to spread the net when it’s deployed. AutoTrawl works with the winches already on the vessel, so the crew can set net height, make a deliberate adjustment, and hold the tow.
Vessel requirements
- GPS with NMEA standard data output (existing, not provided).
- Echosounder with NMEA standard data output (existing, not provided).
- Net sensor showing depth and altitude with NMEA standard output, e.g. a Marport headline sensor (not provided).
- Existing hydraulic trawl winches.
- Katchi cable payout meters for port and starboard winches (required).
How a crew uses it
- The crew deploys the net.
- The captain finds fish on the sounder.
- The captain sets the target on the AutoTrawl screen, and AutoTrawl handles the rest automatically.
On the water
The hardware sits with the winch. The work is still the tow.
